Art and Spirit: Multimedia Exhibition at Shambellie House unveiledAccording to legend, a sacred and mystical land known as Shambhala is hidden deep in the Himalayas, accessible only to those sincere of intent and pure of heart. This fabled kingdom of peace and wisdom forms the inspiration for some of the artwork on display at Shambellie House this August in a multi exhibition called Shambhala at Shambellie.The show is an offering from the D&G based artists’ collective, Animus ~ Art for the World Soul (www.animusart.org), with work on view including pieces in glass, willow, slate and wood as well as paintings, drawings and prints.The exhibition has a festival feel, with a concert, artists in residence for the duration of the two week show and daily workshops on offer with a spiritual as well as an arts and crafts focus.Shambhala at Shambellie will be on at Shambellie House, New Abbey, Dumfries, from August 17th to the 29th.Opening hours are11-4pm, with some events beginning earlier and finishing later than this.All details are on the Facebook event page ‘Shambhala at Shambellie’; if you go here you can also book tickets in advance for events taking place during the exhibition.There is disabled access for the bulk of the exhibition on the first floor, and for workshops.The curator, Shen, can be contacted on 01387373277
