Alex Rigg is based in Moniaive, Dumfries and has been designing, making and performing live events since 1982. His work has taken him around the world and he has collaborated with many different artists.

Not To Scale is the latest development of his ongoing work, and the costumes he has designed for the project, which will be on show in Gracefield Arts Centre over the summer. Alongside these will be a selection of his costumes from previous projects and an insight into his creative process and techniques exploring writing, drawing, stitching, building……..

This exhibition offers the opportunity to have costumes made to commission for theatre companies, film companies, performance groups or individuals who just want something extraordinary to wear themselves!

During the exhibition period Alex will be working in the gallery space part of the time and will be happy to talk about his projects and collaborative possibilities. There may be other artists joining him throughout this period and Gracefield will post a programme of activities each week on the notice board or by phone – 01387 262084

Costumes will be available to try on and there will be a costumed photo shoot, a gallery talk and workshop looking at the process of designing for performance.

On Saturday 20th August 7pm – 8pm there will be a surreal and spectacular performance with music of Not To Scale in the grounds of Gracefield - £5    pre-book:  01387 253383
