Ailsa Black

Ailsa Black trained in Graphic Design and Illustration at Gray’s School of Art. Working with acrylics on canvas and board, she creates each piece by hand using traditional painting techniques before photographing her work for reproduction.
Her art has been exhibited at the Royal Glasgow Institute and the Paisley Art Institute. In 2016, she was shortlisted for the License This! art licensing competition, and in 2017 was named one of the UK’s 25 most influential art brands by Licensing Biz. Her RSPB Year Planner won Best UK Charity Calendar in the UK Calendar Awards (2018), and in 2020 The Independent listed her Ravensburger No Ball Games jigsaw among the top ten adult puzzles to do during lockdown.
