Gwen Adair

I trained in Graphics and Illustration at GSA, then spent 35 years in community art and secondary school teaching. Around 2007 I began to reinvent myself as a painter too, and my work now is mostly birds and boats, with figurative and portrait painting when I get the chance. I was a finalist in the ING Discerning Eye Drawing Competition in London in 2007, and in the Scottish Portrait Awards in 2018, and in 2022 I received the Visual Artist of the Year award from D&G Life magazine. I exhibit regularly across Scotland, and occasionaly elsewhere.
