I am a full time landscape artist/printmaker who specialises in reduction linocuts and monotypes. My images are gathered from walks in my local area. I am drawn to capture the play of light especially on water or shiny objects. I am inspired by the Japanese technique of selective rolling the inks, I use my rollers like paint brushes and the impressionist loose mark making that reads as realism from a distance which I achieve with my chisel marks. Most of my work is created in 4 layers and I look at each layer in terms of tone. All of my work from the initial sketch to the final layer are created by hand and with this being a labour intensive process I do limited editions of 10.
