Lorna took part in our Modern Makers programme with Fitch & McAndrew Slipware Potters back in 2017 and more recently took part in our Jump Cut film making project. We are also delighted to showcase some of Lorna’s recent video work in our Modern Makers exhibition.

About Lorna

Lorna Phillips is an emerging artist working with clay. She graduated in Sculpture from Edinburgh College of Art and lives in Edinburgh.

Lorna’s research-based practice excavates traces of material culture and social history by journeying into the biographies of the land, using the material of clay as the path into the landscape and what it holds.

The Houliston Craft Award was a one-off award created by the Houliston family to celebrate Angela Houliston’s legacy in contemporary craft, in association with Craft Scotland.
