Our ROAM (Space) group are taking their exhibition to WORKSPACE Dunfermline
Our ROAM (Space) group are going on tour!
ROAM (Space) is a collective of emerging artists, who are based in Dumfries & Galloway, comprising of Rhiannon Dewar, Christian Haynes, Sarah McCusker, Liv McDougall and Emily Tough.
The group has been formed via a new Upland project which has supported a small collective of early career artists to work alongside an established lead artist to explore ways in which to exhibit work, exchange ideas, experiment creatively and connect via contemporary art practice.
The group exhibited together for the first time in September 2023 at Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries. After a period of support from lead artist Kevin Reid and research investigating artist run spaces they brought their work together for the first time under the collective banner of ROAM (Space) with the pop-up exhibition, 'This Is Not My Day Job'
The group have reimagined their exhibition and are now taking it to WORKSPACE Dunfermline, a fully functioning hair salon that transforms into an exhibition space. The work in this exhibition explores themes around the modern workplace, considering the time pressures and constraints of creating artwork in between ‘day jobs’.
The exhibition opening event is on 13th July, 4-7pm.
