Call Out: Leaders for Modern Makers 2021
We are looking for expressions of interest from Upland members to lead the future Modern Makers programme
This opportunity is for Upland professional members only.
Modern Makers is a chance for a small group of young people from D&G (usually between 4-6) to be tutored intensively for 30 days by a professional maker to learn new skills, develop their own practice and gain insight into how a maker functions in today’s social and economic environment. We hope that by working in a group, participants will gain new skills and confidence while at the same time be able to share ideas and build relationships through shared experience. We know that the best way to become a skilled maker is to learn from one so we would like to offer young people the opportunity to work with one of our experienced crafts people in the region.
The 2020 Modern Makers programme is being led by Amanda Simmons. We are looking for expressions of interest from established makers who would be interested in leading future Modern Makers programmes in 2021/22. Makers must be an Upland Member.
