Glenkens Community & Arts Trust are looking for visual artists based within Dumfries & Galloway to exhibit with CatStrand in the gallery space. There is an exhibition space between Aug/Sept and then a further slot in October/November.
The themes they are interested in are agriculture, growing or food for the Aug/Sept exhibition.
The themes they are interested in for Oct/Nov are environmental/climate related works- this could relate to land use, built environment, rural tourism or transport.
there is a hook and line system in place in the gallery and can accommodate up to 12 pieces depending on size of work. There is also a cabinet available for alternative mediums to be displayed.
The commission rate in the gallery is 30%.
They are offer a digitising service where they will create a photographic portfolio of your pieces in situ in the gallery as well as documenting the overall exhibit. This will be curated and viewable on our GCAT website in our virtual gallery. We will provide you with this portfolio for use going forward. There is no cost to the artist for the above digitising service- we hope it will support you to find new audiences and deal with the virtual environment we have found ourselves in over the last year.
If you are interested please send images or links to examples of your work and a description of your practice to email@example.com
Support can be given with the hanging of work and if needed framing. If you don't feel you have enough work for a stand -alone exhibit, please get in touch as we may be able to pair you with another artist- or similarly if you would like to partner with or apply as a group for exhibition we can consider you together.
