'Silence to think, Silence to meditate, Silence to have space in your head'

Anne visited Dumfries Prison this morning, to take part in the Wigtown Book Festival outreach program.

The Confluence theme of the day was Silence, and she took the questions of the day along with her.

The heading for this post contains just some of the thoughts and debates discussed at the prison.

The session went well and on returning home Anne received a message from the prison to say that the group were keen to answer all the Confluence questions so she swiftly sent the questions for all the themes.

Houssain and I continued work, writing and preparing blogs and articles on the residency and then chatted to a few authors and visitors about Silence. Oddly, the town and festival venues, although busy with people, did feel calm and quiet.

We attended a talk, hosted by journalist, Polly Pullar, where she interviewed author James Canton who talked and read from his book, 'Ancient Wonderings'.
