Marjorie Lotfi Gill worked as a lawyer specialising in capital markets and corporate environmental law for Davis Polk in New York and London between 1996 and 2002. She founded Open Book, a charity that provides shared reading groups for vulnerable adults and the elderly in Scotland, and in 2015 she was awarded an MSc from Edinburgh University in Creative Writing, Poetry (with Distinction). She is currently the Poet in Residence at Jupiter Artland and was the Writer in Residence for Spring Fling 2015 and the 2015 Wigtown Book Festival. Her poems have been widely published in anthologies and journals in the UK and US, and have been performed on BBC Radio 4.
