Linda was born in London, and graduated in Fine Art (Sculpture) at what was then the West of England College of Art, in Bristol. She moved permanently to Dumfries & Galloway in 1977, and as well as maintaining her own studio practice, she has been actively involved in local and Scotland-wide arts activities and organisation ever since, with a particular interest in developing opportunities for and understanding of contemporary and community based arts activities. From 1998 to 2012 she project-managed various public art projects for local authorities and other institutions across Scotland. She was part of the group instrumental in setting up The Stove in Dumfries from 2011, and has been actively involved, as adviser, mentor and exhibitor, in Spring Fling.

From around 2018 she has pulled back from more public involvement to focus on her own creative development as a studio artist. She works across a wide range of media, in both 2D and 3D, focussing mainly on an ever closer relationship with the local landscape and materials.

One of her proudest achievement is in being a very small part of the wide group of active arts professionals who have gradually, over the past five decades, created opportunities, support and encouragement for younger (and older!) creatives to make their homes and working lives in Dumfries and Galloway.
