Fitch & McAndrew Online Exhibition
Fitch & McAndrew Online Exhibition Opening Friday 26th October
Fitch and McAndrew are preparing to open their online exhibition this Friday 26th October!
Doug Fitch and Hannah McAndrew are slipware potters in Galloway and are both long established in their field.
Their pots are contemporary, but draw influence from an ancient tradition of British pottery manufacture, using the same natural materials for their slips and glazes that have been used for centuries. These provide a range of yellows, greens and earth tones, which are enhanced by the naked flame from a kiln that is fueled with wood.
Pots are made on the potter’s wheel and also by using a series of slump moulds, from which flat dishes are produced.
Pieces are represented in many important private collections, but also in a number of public collections, including York Art Gallery, Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge and Plymouth Art Gallery and Museum.
They both exhibit internationally and their work is particularly popular in America and Japan.
The online exhibition opens on October 26th at 6pm BST. Visit their website here: http://www.fitchandmcandrew.co.uk/
