Lead maker for the 2020 programme: Amanda Simmons
We are delighted to open applications for Modern Makers 2020 and are looking for young people to take part. This is a unique chance to work with renowned glass artist Amanda Simmons, learning about her work and processes as a maker. This programme would suit young people interested in a creative career and looking to learn more about how makers create their work and make a living as a creative practitioner. The programme will allow participants to create their own work, using the techniques which Amanda works with and take part in a final exhibition at the end of the programme.

Previous Modern Makers participant Lorna Phillips has won this year's Glenfiddich Residency Award at the opening of the RSA New Contemporaries exhibition in Edinburgh, where she is currently showing her work as a selected graduate of Edinburgh College of Art.

MAKE Manifesto and Craft Scotland have launched MAKE Learn - three research documents titled Craft and Making in Education in Scotland Today: Research Report, Key Findings and Recommendations, alongside a set of resources, developed with makers, for schools.
